Our
Name
The
Grammaticus Group takes its identity from the pen name of the
Anglo-Saxon monk Aelfric (955 - 1020), a writer and grammarian, who
is credited with early attempts to transform the spoken word to the
written word. The Grammaticus Group aspires to use both the written
word and spoken word to open fresh channels of communication.
Operations
Business
operations began in early 1996 when Graeme Connell formed the
company and accepted a contract to supply a full range of public
relations services to the Sable Offshore Energy Project, working out
of Halifax, Nova Scotia. This one-year contract expanded beyond two years.
In
early 1997, Lois Connell added her work as an artist, exhibiting as
Pukeko Loft. In the fall of 1998, Rachel Connell joined the group
full-time and Heather Douglas came on stream in the spring of 1999.
Both Rachel and Heather provided contract services to clients under
the umbrella of Grammaticus prior to full-time association.
In
early 1998, Grammaticus took a 50% interest in the formation of
Onshore Communication Incorporated of Halifax, Nova Scotia, to
produce a series of six cable channel television shows on the Sable
Gas Projects. The Sable Offshore Energy Project, Maritimes and
Northeast Pipeline and WestCoast Energy Inc funded this project.
In
late 1999, Grammaticus added personal growth training and
development to its repertoire. The Path Workshop and Personal
Growth Series (coming soon) are activities which support personal
communication and provide new direction and improved productivity on
an individual basis.
Grammaticus
provides a full suite of public relations and communication services
aimed at providing the best possible linkages and dialogue between
all levels in an organization or business and between a business or
organization and its publics.
